About Sandy Lane Club

Hidden away among the wheat fields and corn fields of Kansas is a magical land known as Sandy Lane Club.  Originally, Sandy Lane Club was a forty acre catalpa tree farm.  Sandy Lane Club is now surrounded by a forest of Catalpa trees.  The catalpa trees were planted during the early 1950’s and now stand over 70 feet tall.  The trees have created a lush, shaded forest in the middle of the Kansas plains which is unprecedented anywhere in the state.

Individual camp sites are carved back in among the catalpa trees and provide seclusion and privacy for couples and their families.  The catalpa trees surround each camp site and provide shade throughout the entire day.  A total of 45 camp sites are available for tents, campers, and motor homes.  Each camp site has electrical and potable water hook-ups.  Three of the camp sites have 30 amp electrical services for the larger fifth wheel campers and motor homes.  The remaining 43 camp sites have twenty amp electrical services.  The camp sites have camp fire rings for cooking and family fun.  Whether you are sitting around your camp fire early in the morning, or enjoying your first cup of coffee from the Club House, don’t be surprised if you see 20 to 30 wild turkeys walking through Sandy Lane Club.  They are a regular site and enjoyed by all.  Individual camp sites, of your choice, are for rent on a yearly basis.  This allows Sandy Lane Club members to leave their camper or motor home at Sandy Lane Club year round in their own private camp site.

Sandy Lane Club has two cabins for rent on a daily basis.  The cabins are centrally located on the Club grounds.  Each cabin has a full size bed with air conditioning and electric heat.  The camp sites and cabins are available on a first come first serve basis.  Contact Sandy Lane Club for the current rental rates and begin enjoying unprecedented camping and family fun.

The 45 camp sites surround the Club grounds and facilities.  The Club facilities includes a swimming pool, indoor hot tub, pavilion, clubhouse, men’s and women’s rest rooms with showers, volleyball court, shuffle board, and kid’s climbing gym, teeter-totter and roundabout.  All of the facilities are available to members 7 days a week, 12 months a year except for the swimming pool which is open from May until the end of September.

Sandy Lane Club also has a total of five walking trails that wind through the 40 acres of catalpa trees.  As you walk along the trails, you begin to see the beauty of nature in the surrounding forest.  In some areas of the forest, the floor is carpeted with green foliage.  A meditation bench located 100 feet off the main south trail provides a place for individuals and couples to meditate or simply enjoy a peaceful moment.  Visitors often see wild turkeys, deer, raccoons, squirrels, and owls.
