Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I've never been to a nudist club, what's
it all about?
A: Nude recreation is surprisingly relaxing
and uniquely freeing, as millions in Europe,
Though nobody's "perfect", we're all perfectly human and quite acceptable just as we really are. A lifetime of ingrained self-consciousness can sometimes evaporate in minutes at Sandy Lane Club.
Most of us use Sandy Lane Club as an anytime getaway from everyday stress, a place to play or unwind, however it pleases at the moment. It is also a wonderful place to meet new and old friends.
Q: Must I go nude all the time?
A: Although we are a nudist club, there are times when being nude just
isn’t practical. You may not feel comfortable at first, we understand,
we had our first visit once too. When it’s cold, we like to be warm, and
that means clothes. There ARE, however, some places at Sandy Lane Club
where nudity is a MUST. Bathing suits or clothing of any kind are not
allowed in the pool or hot tub. There are also times when women are more
comfortable wearing a pair of shorts.
Q: My child likes to swim but is still in
diapers.
A: Children that are
still in diapers must wear a swimming diaper, here are some of the major
brands:
Q: So, that means children are welcome?
A: Absolutely! Children are natural nudists and quickly take to it like
ducks take to water. Sandy Lane Club is a family club and we encourage
families with children to join.
Q: Is nude recreation
mainstream activity?
A: The answer to this question is a resounding YES!
As reported in USA TODAY, The Yankelovich National Travel Monitor is one of the most respected polls in the travel industry. The 2006 edition of that poll found that 15% of adult Americans would consider a resort that offers a nude recreation experience or a clothing-optional beach experience either extremely or a very desirable part of a vacation.
In the January 17, 2003 edition of The Wall St. Journal, a front page story in the Marketplace section noted that nude recreation in North America has grown to a $400 million industry. The article explained that clothes-free offerings run the gamut from upscale venues with plush townhouses and room service to rustic rural retreats, to cruises on some of the world’s most popular cruise lines.
The Roper Organization has reported that some 54 million Americans have skinny-dipped in mixed company. For people who want to recapture the freedom and innocence of that experience, AANR clubs offer relaxing, down to earth, casual environments. Members may also participate in AANR World Adventures nudist vacations and cruises.
Q: My body is less than
perfect. Will I feel self-conscious or out of place?
A: You will quickly discover that people really do come in all shapes
and sizes and that, as far as our bodies are concerned, all of us have
nothing to hide. The benefits of nude recreation are based on acceptance
of self and respecting the individuality and freedom of others. Most
first-timers adjust to social nudity in a matter of minutes and discover
it’s not nearly as big a deal as they thought it would be. Some feel
self-conscious before they undress since they’re likely to be the only
ones not nude.
Q: Do males get visibly
excited?
A: Not often. Nudist clubs are far less sexually charged than places
where bikinis, thongs, or other provocative clothing, are worn. On the
rare occasion where this occurs, simply don a towel, turn over, or take
a quick dip in the pool.
Q: What about sex?
A: Sandy Lane Club is NOT a “swinger’s club”. Overt sexual activity is
strictly forbidden and absolutely NOT tolerated. Unwelcomed advances are
rare, in the event of any unwelcomed advances contact club staff and we
will take steps to assure that it will never happen again. We want all
of our visitors and members to feel comfortable at Sandy Lane Club and
strive to meet that goal.

bring?
